Chicken & Veggie Stir Fry

This chicken and veggie stir fry is a weeknight dinner that earns its place on your hormone-supportive meal plan. It comes together in 30 minutes with one pan, simple ingredients, and almost no cleanup. Lean ground chicken, garlic, a colorful vegetable mix, and a tamari-honey sauce make this a flavor-packed meal that also works hard for your hormones.

Stir fries are one of the most efficient hormone-supportive meals you can make. They pack vegetables, protein, and flavor into a single pan with minimal cooking time and maximum nutritional return.

Ground chicken for lean, hormone-supportive protein

Extra lean ground chicken is low in saturated fat and high in complete protein. Adequate protein is essential for every stage of hormone production. It supports the synthesis of peptide hormones like insulin and thyroid hormones. It also helps regulate cortisol by stabilising blood sugar between meals. Ground chicken is also gentler on digestion than red meat.

Garlic for liver support and anti-inflammatory action

Garlic is one of the most well-researched anti-inflammatory foods. It contains allicin, a compound with powerful antimicrobial and liver-supporting properties. Your liver is responsible for breaking down and clearing excess hormones. Supporting liver function through food is one of the most direct ways to support hormonal balance.

Frozen vegetable mix for fibre and micronutrients

A good frozen vegetable mix typically includes carrots, peas, green beans, and corn. These vegetables provide dietary fibre, which feeds beneficial gut bacteria. A healthy gut microbiome supports the estrobolome — the collection of gut bacteria responsible for metabolising estrogen. More fibre means better estrogen clearance and less risk of estrogen dominance.

Tamari instead of soy sauce

Tamari is a gluten-free alternative to traditional soy sauce. It has a deeper, richer flavour with less sodium. It also contains small amounts of antioxidants from the fermentation process. Using tamari keeps this stir fry suitable for those avoiding gluten.

Red onion and honey

Red onion contains quercetin, a natural anti-inflammatory flavonoid. Quercetin has been shown to reduce oxidative stress and support immune function. Honey adds a touch of sweetness to balance the tamari. When used in small amounts, it does not significantly spike blood sugar.

Serving suggestions and variations

Serve this stir fry as-is for a low-carb option. Add a side of basmati or cauliflower rice to increase the volume of the meal. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat in a pan over medium heat to keep the texture from going soggy
