Salted Cinnamon Protein Bars

These protein bars are an easy way to add protein, healthy fats, fiber, and key micronutrients to your day. Each ingredient offers its own hormone-supportive benefits, from magnesium and vitamin E to complex carbohydrates and amino acids. Together, they create a tasty snack that supports steady energy, gut health, and overall hormone function. They are also easy to prep ahead for busy weeks!

Vanilla protein powder

Protein powder gives these bars a concentrated source of amino acids. Your body uses amino acids to build enzymes, tissues, and many hormone-related compounds. Depending on the protein powder you choose, it may also provide additional minerals that support energy production and reproductive health.

Rolled oats

Rolled oats provide complex carbohydrates and beta-glucan fiber. That fiber supports healthy digestion and feeds beneficial gut bacteria. Gut health matters for hormone metabolism because the digestive tract helps process and eliminate hormone metabolites. Oats also provide manganese, magnesium, and B vitamins. These nutrients support cellular energy production and normal nervous system function.

Almond butter

Almond butter adds monounsaturated fats, plant protein, magnesium, and vitamin E. Dietary fat is important for the production of steroid hormones, including estrogen and progesterone. Magnesium also supports normal stress-response pathways and hundreds of enzymatic reactions. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant and contributes to reproductive health, making almonds a useful ingredient in hormone-supportive meals and snacks.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon adds a beautiful of flavor. It also contains antioxidant plant compounds that help protect cells from oxidative stress. Cinnamon has been studied for its relationship with glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity. It naturally fits  into meals designed to support metabolic and hormonal health.

Honey

Honey contains naturally occurring sugars alongside small amounts of antioxidants and plant compounds.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil contributes fat and gives the bars their soft, cohesive texture. Dietary fats help with the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, including vitamins A, D, E, and K. These nutrients play important roles throughout endocrine and reproductive health.

Flaky sea salt

Sodium is an essential electrolyte that supports fluid balance, nerve signaling, and muscle function.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz. (40g) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3.5 oz. (100g) rolled oats
  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil, melted
  • 4.2 oz. (120g) natural almond butter
  • 2.6 oz. (75g) honey
  • flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a food processor fitted with a steel S blade, add the protein powder, cinnamon, and rolled oats. Blend for 1 minute until the oats are powdery and fine.
  2. Add the melted coconut oil, almond butter, honey, and vanilla extract to the food processor. Blend for another 30 seconds until the mixture is well combined.
  3. Fold some of the mixture in your hand; it should form a ball and not crumble. If the mixture is crumbly, add 1 tablespoon of water and process again.

  5. Remove the bars from the loaf pan and cut them into 8 squares.
